Avanade is excited to be expanding our Mainframe-to-Azure (MF2Azure) offering! In this role, you will be working with Enterprise Clients, Avanade's Regional A&I Leadership and our MF2Azure COE. Your primary role will be to drive Avanade's Mainframe Modernization offering, leading pre-sales activities such as Assessments, Value Case development, and Strategy development for our clients. We are looking for a strong Mainframe Modernization Solution Architect with an application and infrastructure background. You bring valuable experience of Microsoft Azure solution selling, come from an application and infrastructure engineering background with solid technical architecture and delivery management experience.
This role requires an in-depth knowledge and understanding of mainframe modernization projects.
The position will be based out of North America. We work flexibly and travel where needed. The role will mainly be that of an Azure Pre-Sales Solution Architect, but all our client facing workforce are consulting practitioners and will be involved in client delivery work.
What You´ll Do:

Engaging in C-Level Mainframe Modernization Strategy Workshops

Deliver Assessment work and Transformation Roadmap definition for Clients leading a team of architects

Collaborate with Sales, Deliver and Engineering to Develop end to end Solutions for Clients

Engage with Avanade and Accenture Leadership to contribute to Mainframe Modernization offering evolution

Lead Tender teams to develop winning proposal for Clients

Define improvement areas for tools and products in use leveraging your knowledge of market solutions availability

Support in initial phases of project delivery
Ihr Profil
-
You have demonstrable proficiency in the critical steps of mainframe modernization projects (e.g. you have been directly involved in a mainframe modernization project and can speak to your role.

You have Leading Assessments or Strategy work related to mainframe modernization.
-
You are familiar with different mainframe modernization approaches such as Replatforming, Refactoring, Reimagine and more.

You have an excellent background in mainframe (IBM z/OS or Unisys AS/OS2200) platforms and languages.

You have experience of working with large global technology systems integrators and know how to navigate your way around their offerings, capabilities, accounts, and partners to originate and deliver opportunities.

You have a good understanding of Cloud Technologies and understand how GenAI can impact Mainframe Modernization

You have been responsible for the growth of annual sales and revenue numbers in the Microsoft space, especially Azure-based services.

You can talk at the level of a technical engineer, right through to the c-suite. You have a good presence and can establish immediate credibility.

You have excellent commercial awareness, combined with strong Advisory/Consulting skills.

Internally, you can lead a team, and you set an example as a leader, mentor, and trusted ambassador.

A plus is if you have a good background on Financial Services, Automotive, Public Sector, business and clients.
About You
Characteristics that can spell success for this role:

Having experience in pre-sales you can manage a sales pipeline, solutioning deal economics and write clear proposals and statements of work (SOW)

You have financial services or manufacturing / retail industry experience (preferred)

Mainframe (IBM z/OS or Unisys AS/OS2200) platforms and languages
