Based in Berlin, L-Plan Lighting Design is an independent lighting consultancy, which was founded by Michael F. Rohde in 1999. Reinhard Germer has been a partner since 2013.

  L-Plan Lighting Design approaches lighting as an integral part of architectural design. We believe that it is important to complement each project's unique architectural expression with distinctive lighting design. We work in close contact with our clients, architects, and specialty planners.

  L-Plan Lighting Design is working on a wide range of both national and international projects. Our scope of projects ranges from many different types such as museums, office and administration buildings, religious spaces, transportation environments, hospitality, retail spaces, urban lighting masterplans, media facades, and exterior urban areas.

Approach

Light is a fascinating and powerfully expressive medium. Light and space are closely interrelated and therefore, influence each other. This offers enormous potential to the design development. As lighting designers, we make use of these opportunities to support the architectural expression.

A thorough analysis of place, architecture, and space, as well as exploring and understanding their historical and contemporary context is vital to the development of the lighting vision for each and every project we embark upon.

Furthermore, we examine our designs with technical exertion, which continuously develops further at every stage of the project. As part of our design strategy, constant testing of state of the art lighting technologies, with the aid of calculations and visualization tools help us realize and communicate lighting solutions in the most efficient and sustainable manner.

Artificial light and daylight are coordinated into a uniform concept while taking into account the architectural design. We pay close attention to ergonomic quality, integrating your economic and ecological goals into the overall concept.

Good lighting design is the successful dialectic between light and space. It facilitates the perception of spatial relationships and offers a new holistic impression of space.

We have a Project Management position available for a Senior Lighting Designer with excellent design, production, visual and verbal communication skills who has a great passion for light.

L-PLAN LIGHTING DESIGN is an independent award-winning international lighting design studio in Berlin. We work on a wide range of project types and scales which keeps our work so exciting. We want creative driven designers to join our team.

We are looking for min. 6 years' experience in lighting design and, preferably lighting master planning, the ability to work in a team and excellent knowledge of English. Command of the German language would an advantage but is not mandatory.

Project management involves independent work, structured and result-oriented delegation.

Applicants should ideally be experienced users of Photoshop, AutoCAD, Revit and a 3D software package.
