Your job:
- Propose and develop research projects in line with the ZIG2 strategy.
- Independently develop and implement advanced statistical modelling techniques and guide others in the
development and implementation of these techniques.
- Conducting and/or supervising systematic reviews on public health topics
- Reviewing and interpreting the results of junior staff
- Liaising with and receiving feedback from senior RKI staff on methods and incorporating feedback into updates
of analytical approaches
- Preparing presentations and writing scientific articles for peer-reviewed journals
- Maintain scientific awareness and intellectual agility regarding research design, data, methods and analytical
techniques within and across disciplines.
- Other duties as assigned by the research team
Your professional profile:
Formal requirements
- University degree (State Examination, University Diploma, Master's degree or equivalent) or equivalent in public
health, epidemiology, biostatistics, economics, social sciences or related discipline.
- PhD or MD + MPH, in the case of a PhD in medicine or veterinary science, an M.Sc. with a focus on quantitative
research methods is also required.t
In the case of foreign educational qualifications, we require a certificate of equivalence with a German qualification.
Skills and experience
- Several years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in the independent development and implementation of statistical modelling techniques
- Experience in carrying out and publishing systematic reviews
- Track record of co-authoring several scientific papers, presenting results and representing research at
conferences
- Peer-reviewed publication record
- Confident in using common MS Office programs
- Language skills (CEFR level): German up to A2, English C2
Desirable skills and experience
- Experience of working with international partners
- Postdoctoral training in a public health area
- Experience in mentoring and developing junior staff in soft and technical skills
- Knowledge of French
