Ihre Aufgaben
The team consists of 6-8 researchers from nutrition science, epidemiology, global health, climate research und health sciences, 10-15 doctoral students, 1 laboratory technician and 1 data manager. We are dynamic, multi-cultural, and collaborate with partners in Africa and Asia. In our work, we apply population-based research to identify climate change adaptation strategies for the Global South and to establish health co-benefits of climate change mitigation efforts.
Your duties:
- We are looking for lead scientists for two different research projects on climate change adaptation and climate change mitigation, respectively.
- Project A - Coordination and analysis of a multi-center cohort study in Ghana for establishing the associations of early-life experiences (environmental and health factors) with dietary practices and cardio-metabolic diseases in adult life; Contribution to intervention research on nature-based solutions in two urban areas of West Africa (Ghana, Burkina Faso)
- Project B - Establishment, coordination and analysis of intervention studies on sustainable diets for young soccer players in soccer academies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, incl. the development of study designs, stakeholder-oriented implementation of interventions, data analysis, publication of findings
- Willingness to travel, e.g., for field work in sub-Saharan Africa (Project A) and for intervention studies in DACH countries (Project B)
- Contribution to academic teaching (each 4 SWS)

Ihr Profil
Your profile:
- PhD in epidemiology, Public Health / Global Health, nutrition science, human medicine or similar subjects (Project A)
- PhD in sports sciences, behavioural science, nutrition science / dietetics, health sciences or similar subjects (Project B)
- Excellent proficiency in English (Projects A and B)
- Very good proficiency in Germany (C level, Project B)
- Committed, flexible, team-oriented, interested in advanced training
