IT Project Manager - WLAN Optimization (m/w/d)
Description
We are currently working with a client, who seek an experienced IT Project Manager (m/w/d) to lead the global [W]LAN optimization project rollout. This project focuses on implementing a hardware and configuration refresh for over 200 sites of varying sizes, with a multi-year rollout phase. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage complex, global projects, ensuring alignment, transparency, and communication across diverse stakeholders.
Start: January
Duration: Initial 6 months (option to be extended)
Volume: Fulltime
Location: Fully remote in Germany - once a month meeting in Düsseldorf
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the global rollout of the [W]LAN optimization project, coordinating hardware refresh and configuration updates for 200+ sites.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including PMO, Rollout Managers, and Network SMEs, as well as external consultancy partners like HPE, to ensure smooth execution.
- Manage hardware delivery, governance, implementation, and local support where necessary.
- Ensure effective stakeholder management by maintaining transparent communication, progress reporting, and regular updates.
- Develop and maintain structured project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies.
- Coordinate regular on-site meetings (approximately once per month) at the Dusseldorf Headquarters.
- Monitor and mitigate risks to ensure project deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Drive adherence to project governance, including internal policies and processes.
Requirements
- Experience:
o Proven track record in IT project management, preferably in networking or similar global rollout initiatives.
o Experience working with internal and external teams, including consultancy partners. - Skills:
o Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and team coordination.
o Proficiency in English (German proficiency recommended but not mandatory).
o Familiarity with IT project methodologies, tools, and best practices.
