trivago is a publicly-listed company on Nasdaq, and we believe that maintaining accurate and detailed financial records is paramount to driving our business forward, helping us strengthen our relationships with customers and manage revenue risk. As a Tax Specialist, you'll provide tax consultation for trivago's stakeholders and implement best practices in our tax accounting processes. Read on to learn more about the role and apply today!

How youll make an impact:

• Prepare and file VAT returns and other indirect tax filings
• Support with the preparation of income tax returns
• Perform tax-related SOX controls
• Ensure tax compliance in ERP settings
• Provide support during tax audits
• Support projects from a tax perspective i.e. M&A transactions, product innovations
• Maintain relationship with external auditors and tax advisors
• Provide tax consultation for internal and trivago stakeholders

What you'll need to thrive:

• A bachelor's degree or diploma in taxation, finance, accounting or qualified accountant/tax clerk (Bilanzbuchhalter/Steuerfachangestellter)
• 2-3 years experience in international tax with a knowledge of tax regulations and accounting
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• The ability to multitask while completing tasks accurately and in a timely manner
• Keen attention to details and problem-solving skills
• A positive can do attitude and eagerness to take responsibility for projects and processes assigned
• Strong communication skills in both German and English (our company language)

Stand out with:

• Experience working with reporting/ERP software.
• Experience performing SOX controls.
• Familiarity with US GAAP.
