Mechnical Engineer - Damper Validation

As a Damper Validation Specialist, you will be at the heart of verifying and optimizing the performance of our damper systems for wind turbine towers. Your work ensures that concepts and simulations become proven solutions in the field. By collaborating with testing teams and development engineers, you'll translate real-world data into insights that directly influence our next-generation damping technologies. This role closely interfaces with our Mechanical Engineering, Simulation, and Tool development teams to ensure a seamless development-to-validation cycle.
Your Tasks:
- Lead the development and execution of validation campaigns for Nordex's damper technologies employing field measurements and testrigs.
- Collaborate closely with the Test and Prototyping Team (OPP-TAP) to validate system performance.
- Interface with tower and damper developers to ensure effectiveness and functional integration.
- Conduct ongoing analysis of test data to derive actionable improvements.
- Contribute to improving the robustness and reliability of damper solutions across wind turbine towers.
Your Profile:
- Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field.
- 5+ years of experience in similar technical roles.
- Knowledge of machine dynamics.
- Hands-on experience in validation of mechanical systems, preferably in energy or structural components.
- Familiarity with test planning, measurement interpretation, and system behavior.
- Analytical thinking, structured work style, and problem-solving mindset.
- Strong communication skills in English (German and Spanish are a plus).
- Availability to travel as needed.
