The RADAR Study at Northwestern University is seeking a skilled social media coordinator to help us form a social media strategy to draw prospective participants' attention and engage our existing participant population. The Temporary Social Media Coordinator will review pre-existing social media posts, refine the study's branding, and create optimized ad campaigns. They'll also lead and manage marketing projects, primarily building capacity within existing study team members to execute marketing projects.
ISGMH: The Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing (ISGMH) at Northwestern University was created in 2015 to be a leader in research that improves the health and wellbeing of the sexual and gender minority (SGM) community and foster understanding of the development and experience of SGM people. The institute provides unique opportunities for high-level research and training for the next generation of SGM scholars, and it utilizes innovative modalities to disseminate knowledge widely to the SGM community, the public at large, scholars, service providers, educators, and policymakers.
This position will be hybrid, with on-site work locations of Center on Halsted or 625 N Michigan Ave. The Center on Halsted is an LGBTQ community center located in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood, dedicated to enhancing community and securing the health and well-being of the LGBTQ people of Chicagoland. 625 N. Michigan Ave. is home to the Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health and Wellbeing (ISGMH).
Objectives of this role

Monitor analytics and metrics to gauge success of social media posts and ad campaigns

Research social media trends and hashtags that relate to our target audience's interests

Create a social media content calendar for various channels, planning and scheduling posts in advance

Build capacity within study team to maintain social media calendar

Maintain a cohesive social media strategy across various channels to achieve high levels of user engagement
Responsibilities

Create, manage, and publish original and high-quality content across various social media platforms

Analyze data and metrics to create campaign reports on web traffic, user engagement, and ROI
-
Manage all company social media accounts to ensure relevant, up-to-date content

Collaborate with study leadership to identify marketing priorities
Ihr Profil

Familiarity with social media platforms such as TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter

Understanding of web traffic metrics/analytics
-
Excellent analytical skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills,

A bachelor's (or equivalent) degree in marketing or a related field

Hands-on experience using social media to build brand awareness, ideally within an academic research environment

Ability to identify preferences of young LGBTQ+ populations and create tailored content

Experience with graphic design, photo editing, and publishing
