Middlesex in the Community (MITC) is a new initiative charged with the delivery of physical activity, health, education, wellbeing, and social inclusion in Middlesex. Our mission is to increase participation and engagement across our diverse county and run exciting projects which deliver lasting impact in making cricket more accessible for all. To help us deliver for our communities as we approach the next phase in our development, we are now seeking to recruit a new Chair to lead MITC.
Our goal is to get more people involved in cricket and we are committed to removing barriers to engagement and participation in the game, particularly amongst communities that have a history of exclusion and who are underrepresented in the grassroots and professional levels.

As Chair, you will help to drive, inspire, define, and champion our vision, mission, values and reputation to ensure board level decisions are made in accordance with our long-term ambitions. You will play an important role in supporting our communities in innovative and impactful ways.

Establish and maintain a high performing Board at MITC

Support and mentor the MITC Board and Executive Team
Main duties of the Chair:

Establish MITC as a charity and lead discussion on our day-to-day workings

Ensure MITC achieves its targets and objectives, delivering cricket for all in the county of Middlesex and its' associated London Boroughs

Responsibility for providing effective leadership to the Board

Work with relevant stakeholders to ensure sound governance of MITC

Lead on ensuring an inclusive and diverse environment across MITC to ensure all aspects of diversity are considered

To be the leading advocate for the MITC Board across the region and wider networks

Manage the Board, agree the agenda and chair meetings
-
Inspire new MITC Board members and encourage them to use their influence and expertise for the advancement of sport in the county

Advocate strategy and impact to stakeholders and partners as appropriate
Time Commitment - we anticipate that this role will be a minimum of one day per week throughout the period of office.
Term of Office - the successful candidate will be in post for an initial 3-year term of office.
Location - the candidate will be able to work remotely, however will be required for in-person meetings / events, likely to be across Middlesex but mainly at Lord's Cricket Ground.
