Yusen Associates - an independent manufacturer representative agency focused on marketing, selling & training for the electrical industry since 1927. Yusen has grown to include the upstate New York region as of June 2023 and is looking for a highly motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic Outside Sales Representative for our Specification Lighting Controls Group. The territory includes Upstate and Western NY. The right candidate would report directly to our Upstate NY Regional Manager.

The candidate must have the desire to grow and collaborate with an organization of exceptional professionals as well as be self-motivated, creative, customer focused, and able to excel in an outside sales environment.

This position has direct sales responsibilities and requires continual communication, developing and maintaining solid working relationships with existing and potential customers, while influencing them to buy lighting control products and services.

Customers include but are not limited to, Electrical Engineers, Electrical Contractors, Electrical Distributors, Lighting Designers, Architects, Facility Managers, and End Users.

• Develop new prospects and interact with existing customers to increase sales.

• Prepare sales proposals, presenting information to customers and achieving sales quota.

• Handle customer inquiries.

• Identify decision makers and schedule appointments.

• Perform onsite sales visits to clients and prospects, and effectively present information, assess equipment and facility service needs, and recommend solutions.

• The ideal candidate is a real go-getter with a creative mind, and a can do attitude.

• Perform systematic follow-up and close business - from confirming initial appointment through proposal follow-up to getting the PO

• Assess market, competition, and client needs and report information back in an organized timely manner.

• Attend local trade and customer forums promoting products and services.

  Comparable work-related experience within the electrical industry is preferred, but not required.

• Must be highly reliable and motivated to excel.

• Excellent computer skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work in a team environment while achieving personal goals.

  Requirements:

• Some Outside Sales experience is desirable.

• Knowledge of the electrical industry is desirable.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

• Ability to manage interpersonal relationships.

• Independent, self-starter, driven and results oriented demeanor.
