Housed within the Department of Counseling, Family Therapy, & Higher Education (CTH), the mission of the Student Affairs Administration Program (MA) at Appalachian State University is to prepare reflective scholar- practitioners to work in various areas of student affairs to serve students and institutions of higher education through collaborative, equitable and inclusive practice.

This position will provide administrative program support to Dr. Dena Kniess in her role as program direction for the M.A. in Student Affairs Administration Program. The graduate assistant will focus on the recruitment and retention of our master's students in the program.
YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Administration & Communication

Meet weekly with supervisor via Zoom
-
Check email at least once per day on weekdays
Internal and External Program Communications
-
Develop social media presence for the program
-
Coordinate volunteers for program information sessions

Assist with program interview day preparations
-
Additional tasks may emerge based on interest and experience
Ihr Profil

Must be a full-time graduate student at Appalachian State University

Enrolled in a Boone campus (in-person) graduate program
-
Ability to work 10 hours per week to fulfill position responsibilities,
-
Proactive communicator and strong written communication skills

Ability to take initiative and work independently on assigned projects (ex: does not consistently need explicit examples or extensive project details to start a project)

Highly organized and ability to effectively manage time
