The Athletics Academic Services Graduate Assistant (AASGA) is responsible to the Associate Athletic Director - Compliance and Student Services/SWA for all duties associated with the planning and implementing of the Athletic Department's academic success strategies in accordance with Northern Kentucky University (NKU), Horizon League and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) guidelines.
The AASGA is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the academic services area, including but not limited to advising student-athletes on class schedules; assisting student-athletes with major exploration; meeting with student-athletes one-on-one to assist with time management skills and track academic progress; mentoring student-athletes; monitoring the academic progress and NCAA eligibility of student-athletes; supervising study hall; assisting with recruiting; preparing reports for advisors and compliance; supporting student-athletes on a path toward graduation; assisting with student-athlete development programming. Assist student-athletes with academic schedules

Prepare academic reports for athletics academic advisors and the compliance office

Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes

Supervise study hall and academic lab

Assist in the organization of programming for academically at-risk student-athletes

Assist with student-athlete programming
Occasional Duties

Assist with academic recognition events

Assist with student-athlete development workshops such as summer bridge, senior transition, professional development, etc.

Organize special projects such as major exploration sessions, online course sessions, athletics mentoring program, etc.

Other duties as assigned.
Ihr Profil
Must be accepted into an NKU graduate program and enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours, maintaining a 3.0 GPA or better. Individuals accepted into an Accelerated Online graduate program are not eligible for a graduate assistant position. The position is under contract for one academic year with an option for renewal. Desire to obtain full-time employment in the athletic academic services profession preferred., Preferred qualifications include experience in Division I athletic department; tutoring experience; experience effectively using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, social media platforms and Zoom programs.
