The Senior Group Accountant position plays a key role within the business. This is a person with strong communication and cross-Group collaboration skills, as they are responsible for the financial day-to-day running of UK & Europe and International Finance operations.
Bringing together UK/EUR, APAC, MEA and Americas monthly accounts, including: creditor and debtor figures, cash-flow and producing monthly Group Management Accounts and annual Group Statutory Accounts; with explanatory footnotes and other supporting and supplemental schedules and exhibits for each account submission. And ensuring Group billing is issued to Clients by Calendar Day 5 each month. Success in this role depends on compliance with the monthly and annual closing and audit timetable, issued by the Group Finance Director.
This is a role for someone ready to take the next step towards driving a team to perform and deliver to tight deadlines leading by example, where necessary.
Essential Duties
Group Statutory Accounting and Reporting

Preparation of monthly and annual accounts and reports

Have an in-depth and current understanding of the Company's cash-flow position, and how this relates to its financial obligations;

Understand and have experience in year-end consolidation processes and considerations, having worked with auditors and being able to satisfy all field work enquires;

Support Systech advisors (both UK and overseas) in the preparation of monthly or quarterly tax returns;

Act as a central Point of Contact and report, for the Group's Finance personnel, globally;

Escalate any problematical issues immediately to the Group Finance Director.
Group Budgets
-
Management of Group budgeting process, consolidation of group budgets;
-
Reporting monthly actual -v- plan within the monthly Management Accounts.
Day-to-Day Activities
-
Hold weekly reviews of Group cash-flow with the Treasury Manager and Group Credit Controller
-
Management of Invoice Financing arrangements, submissions and reporting;
-
Work with Group Treasury Manager and Global Credit Controller to ensure Invoice Financing levels are in line with Group strategy;
-
Receive fortnightly Global Credit Control / Receipt Forecasting Report from the Group Credit Controller on forecasted receipts, to support Headroom Report production twice monthly (or when required);

Receive weekly International Gratuity, Bonus & other ad hoc payment schedules, including dates for release, from each Region, to input to cash-flow forecasting/Headroom Report;

Review weekly Group bank reconciliations to provide oversight and sign-off;

Ensure UK and Int'l VAT returns are reconciled to the ledger and sign-off formally, for inclusion in the Board Meeting Minutes.

Oversee Purchase Ledger, ensuring booking of invoices & payments are completed daily, and that the ledger accounts are being allocated to maintain a clean ledger;

Work with the Management Accountant to ensure monthly reconciliation and posting of intercompany transactions to the system;

Sign-off intercompany reconciliation of accounts as part of the month end closing routine;

Oversee Supplier Payment Schedule, ensuring booking of invoices & payments are completed daily, and that the ledger accounts are being allocated to maintain a clean ledger;

To mitigate financial risk, ensure all payments in respect of on-line banking, wire transfers, petty cash, payroll, company credit cards and any other - comply with the Payment Authorisation Matrix (i.e. that all payments made are pre-authorised by an approved authoriser) and spot check routinely for correctness;

Oversee monthly salary reports and ensure bookings of salary costs to the system are made and that there is no delay in setting up overseas payroll, considering bank holidays and time-zones;

Produce schedule of total payroll requirements for cash-flow purposes, and report this to Group Treasury Manager monthly;

Maintain Schedule of Prepayments;

Maintain Schedule of Accruals, e.g. gratuities, for monthly accounts;

Maintain Schedule of Depreciation;
-
Offer support and assistance to team members to promote a cohesive team, and reducing financial risk through streamlined and effective data and communication flow;

Conduct reconciliations between data transfers between systems;
-
Review Purchase ledger invoice coding and overhead allocation to correct COS or overhead cost-centre;

Support Group FD in the delivery of Overhead Budget annually.
Supervision
Works under the supervision of the Group FD and supports the Group's Finance Department.
