Climate Action Network (CAN) is a global network of more than 1,900 civil society organisations in over 130 countries driving collective and sustainable action to fight the climate crisis and to achieve social and racial justice.
CAN members work to achieve this goal through information exchange and the coordinated development of NGO strategy on international, regional and national climate issues. CAN has regional and national network hubs that coordinate these efforts around the world.

The CAN International Secretariat is looking for an Operations and IT Coordinator who loves organizing and coordinating events logistics. The Events and Administration Coordinator will work with the Operations Department to help support the CAN Network by coordinating Event logistics, and assisting with membership management, Procurement, and general organizational development.

The Operations and IT Coordinator will work with the Operations Department to help support the CAN Network by developing efficient systems and procedures in order to increase the productivity of the organization, liaising with IT support, and help with general procurement systems.
The role will be completely remote and will include coordination with the Events and Administration Officer., IT Support:
Act as primary liaison with external IT provider

Work with IT Provider to communicate and implement recommendations on cyber security, vulnerabilities and risks.

With IT provider, assist with ongoing monitoring of hardware and software applications to ensure all software is up to date and secure.

Make sure the internal team has appropriate IT material to conduct their work.

Liaise with the IT provider to organise any necessary IT interventions.

Provide light IT support and troubleshooting for internal team.

Serves as primary focal point for all operational systems, processes, and infrastructure.
Operations Support:
Researches and develops opportunities to improve operational procedures and practices, with particular emphasis on maximizing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Maintains and updates reports, records, and databases.

Assists in long-term planning, reporting, and implementation strategy for the Operations team.

Assists in budgeting and forecasting for the Operations team.

Has a clear understanding of change management and offers palatable and practical solutions to ensure effective buy-in

Identifies organizational gaps and offers solutions.

Reacts nimbly and efficiently to ongoing and newly arising operational needs and challenges.
Human Resources Support

Assist with leave management.

Assist with HR related inquiries.

Support with recruitment - Schedule meeting interviews and orientation

Support with other HR assigned functions.
Administrative and Logistics Support:

Support and back-up for other members of the Operations team.

With the Events and Administration Officer, assists on events support as needed (particularly heavy during time of large-scale, organization-wide events)

Other tasks as assigned by the line-manager as appropriate.
Ihr Profil
University degree in relevant fieldor equivalent vocational training

At least 3-5 years of experience working in operations.

Knowledge of network operations, Google Workspace and being admin of systems

Knowledge of how to implement and prepare changes of existing infrastructure.

Experience in IT support and technical services

Experience working in a network or collaboration of NGOs is strongly desired.

Experience of having worked in civil society and NGO network structures is a strong asset.
