The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading/ directing the railcar production for assigned work center(s) at the Red Deer location. The person in this role is on the front line and must ensure that employees performing repairs on railcars have all the tools, equipment, information and training needed to complete their tasks within GATX's standards. Accountable for leadership of skilled labor employees including all aspects of safety, quality, production and cost. Ensures the highest quality work in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.

Responsible for all Safety/Quality compliance & Training including: Good catch reporting, day-to-day incident management Safety/Quality investigations/follow-up, EHS/Quality Corrective action tracking & closure, safety/quality inspections

Respond immediately to any workplace-related incidents including accompanying injured employees to medical appointments/ visits

Maintain (or oversee) combustible gas / air quality meters (e.g., calibrated, maintained, etc.) Assist in all calibration and logs.

Monitor / comply with any day-to-day, customer-specific EHS/Quality requirements

Perform (or ensure complete) Weekly Confined Space Entry Compliance Observation.

Perform (or ensure complete) Monthly Safety/Quality & Housekeeping Inspection

Perform (or ensure complete) monthly EHS reporting (e.g., Training Schedule, MIR, etc.)

Maintain (or ensure complete) chemical SDS inventory

Maintain (or ensure complete) waste disposal (hazardous and non-haz) documentation

Ensure compliance with DOT requirements

Ensure compliance with AAR requirements and regulations.

Ensure compliance with all FM, EN,QP,QAI,EGP & WP requirements and procedures are being followed.

Ensure emergency response compliance (e.g., minimum rescue team members on site, routine rescue drills completed, etc)

Maintain (or oversee) emergency equipment inspections (e.g., showers and eyewashes; confined space rescue equipment, etc)

Perform (or ensure complete) environmental related inspections and/or reporting

Liaison with security personal regarding any shop security issues that arise.

Scope of Work:
This leadership position will interact with hourly employees, corporate functional leaders, facility leadership, regulatory officials, medical professionals, and all other positions within the Repair Center, as well as and Operations staff throughout the organization. Key functional groups and customers for this position are EH&S, Quality, Operations and external regulatory agencies.
This position will contribute to the success of the facility in achieving its EHS/Quality goals. Specifically, the position will directly ensure the facility's compliance with Quality, environmental permit requirements and safety regulatory requirements. The position will work together and at the direction of the corporate EHS/Quality leadership and the Repair Center Manager.
Ihr Profil
Education and/or Experience Required (including certifications):

High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree with concentration in Science, Engineering, Operations or related field preferred.

Minimum of one (1) year EHS/Quality experience in an industrial / manufacturing environment or three (3) years working experience in railcar repair industry with a demonstrated interest in EHS and quality.

Basic computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Basic familiarity with AAR/FRA regulatory requirements preferred.

Working knowledge of OSHA standards preferred.

Experience creating / delivering training content preferred.
