About the threat research group

Composed of elite researchers, analysts & data scientists. We research application, DDoS & database attacks, provide algorithms for new products, and are leading innovation and thought leadership initiatives.

The challenges: A versatile and broad range of challenges, from different disciplines (Advanced DDoS attacks, sophisticated automated attacks, database attacks to name a few)

The variety: Writing code in multiple languages, analyzing big-data, researching vulnerabilities and attacks, writing algorithms, providing thought leadership, working with other global teams. And that's just before lunch.

What we are looking for

An engine, to drive the team forward. Someone who can plan, execute and lead the team to new heights. A unique voice in our Threat Research group.

Responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with other teams in the security group, development and product to push Imperva solutions forward
• Explore and introduce new technologies to the team
• Define the team's goals according to Imperva vision and execute on it
• Analyze and explore web vulnerabilities and exploits to create effective defense
• Conduct innovative security research
• Produce blog, article and attend speaking engagements

Requirements:

• 4-5 years' experience of managing and leading security research teams
• Passionate about cyber security (For example Penetration testing, cloud security expertise, DB security expertise)
• Loves to code (Preferably at least Python & JavaScript/ Node)
• B.Sc./M.Sc. in Computer Science or related technical/quantitative field or relevant experience
• Thorough knowledge of web application/ database technologies, threats and mitigation techniques
• Good understanding of cloud architecture and network protocols
• Team player with a proven ability to work with others in developing solutions.
• Ability to motivate and lead those around you by your own contribution, professionalism, leadership and teamwork
• Knowledge in data analytics/machine learning - an advantage
• Knowledge in reverse engineering - an advantage
• Knowledge of in browser automation - an advantage
