St Cross College is a co-educational, graduate-only institution founded in 1965, making it one of the University of Oxford's youngest colleges. The College has a new Master, Kate Mavor CBE, formerly the Chief Executive of English Heritage, whose tenure began in September 2023. This is therefore an incredibly exciting time for a new Bursar to join St Cross and enable the College to deliver its ambitious aims., Longlisted candidates will be invited for an initial interview with Perrett Laver in November 2023. The shortlist will be determined in the week commencing 27th November 2023. The final round selection process for shortlisted candidates will take place at the College in mid-December 2023.

Ihre Aufgaben

The Bursar is a member of the College's senior leadership team and is responsible for the management and control of the College's financial resources in addition to the management of both staff and non-staff resources. As a College Officer and Fellow, the Bursar reports to the Master and works closely with her as well as senior members of the operations team. The Bursar's remit includes strategic oversight of the College's finances, facilities, investments and commercial activity, acting as the College's Human Resources Director, and ensuring the smooth operation of all support functions of the College.

The successful candidate will combine proven senior strategic leadership experience across business operations in complex organisations, with keen financial planning, budgeting and control experience, and demonstrable belief in the distinct educational purpose and egalitarian values of St Cross College. They will also bring demonstrable experience in buildings and facilities planning and management. Individuals who seek to empower colleagues, who are creative and resourceful about income generation and capital deployment in line with St Cross' ambitions, and who will enjoy working with well-established collegiate governance structures, will thrive in this role.
