As a central part of R&D, we develop audiological fitting software for use by hearing care professionals as well as mobile apps for end users to control their devices and support their lives. As a member of our team, you'll work alongside developers, testers, and audiologists to bring seamless ease-of-use to our overall software experiences.
The Role
This is a new role inside a small team of writers who are part of Global UX. The role requires someone who is highly organised, has experience managing projects, optimizing workflows and managing the day-to-day of localization and translation work.
As the Localization Manager you will be responsible for managing the internal processes that surround creating UI and technical copywriting for our suite of software products. Collating strings of text, translating, proof-reading, and getting it back into the software platform successfully.
In this role you will have the following responsibilities:

Optimize WSA's translation management process and tool-suite to get high-quality, cost-effective localizations for our software products

Resource, plan, and manage the localization element of all relevant projects on time and on budget using a variety of platforms and resources

Work with internal and external linguists as well as translation agencies to maintain translation memories, create term bases, and manage other relevant documentation

Stay ahead of translation technology updates and localization industry trends and help to promote the adoption of the latest best practice and technology among colleagues and external vendors to drive continuous improvements in translation efficiency and effectiveness

Manage invoices, translation planning and internal proof reading.

We expect you to be an organized and motivated individual, obsessed with best practice, new technologies and process improvement.

At least 5 years of experience as Language Service Provider, coordinating translations and content localization

Strong analytical skills - even in the most ambiguous situation, you make educated decisions, using data to identify the root cause of a problem before creatively and efficiently identifying the solutions with the biggest possible impact

An expert with CAT, TMS and CCMS tools (Phrase Strings and Phrase TMS in particular)

Proven experience in managing transcreation and localization across multiple locales

Project management experience - Responsible, resilient, and adaptable, you take pride in your ability to manage a wide range of projects and deliver effectively

Exceptional attention to detail, and follow-through skills

Exceptional written, negotiation, and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees, clients, and vendors

Fluent English speaker. While it doesn't need to be your first language, you will be qualifying and working daily with English US translation work. Fluency in any other language is a plus.
