At ParTec, we design, build, and support purpose-built heterogeneous supercomputer solutions for science using our modular supercomputing architecture approach. As a hardware-agnostic system provider, we work closely with leading technology companies in the field. For building some of the largest and most complex supercomputers in Europe, we integrate a broad range of products and compute technologies of different origin and maturity level into total system solutions using our ParaStation Modulo software suite.

PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field

At least 3 years work experience outside of a post-doc desired
Essential skills
-
Experience with parallel scientific applications and/or HPC workflow frameworks.

Knowledge of Qiskit, Cirq, PennyLane, or similar.

Knowledge of quantum mechanics, quantum algorithms and quantum circuits.

Knowledge of NISQ quantum algorithms and applications.
-
Familiarity with the quantum hardware and providers (quantum annealers, superconducting qubits, neutral atoms, trapped ions, photonics).

Strong competence in a programming language (C, C++, python)

Familiarity with Linux, bash

The ability to quickly learn new skills

Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical ability.

The ability to effectively communicate scientific results and complex concepts to domain experts and non-experts.

Fluency (written & spoken) in English is required.
Desirable skills

Experience with application performance modelling and/or a deep understanding of scientific HPC applications

6+ years of software development experience

Experience with cloud environments and container orchestration

Experience with optimization techniques and state-of-the-art machine learning tools.
