Assistant Football Coach (Defensive Line)
Reports to: Athletic Director
Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility: Coach the defense for Varsity and Junior Varsity
Under the general direction of the Athletic Director
Under the direct supervision of the Head Football Coach
Works as needed
Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility will be to instruct the student-athlete, teach various athletic methods of success, as well as train them in the proper style. Furthermore, the coach will directly educate the student athlete on how to best succeed in their chosen athletic endeavor. In short, the coach will be expected to instruct student-athletes how to succeed in sport and in life through techniques demonstrated, modeled, and shown in practice as well as in the classroom and in life.
Recruit qualified student-athletes
Monitor study hall
Maintain equipment and facilities
Assist in weekly game prep
Perform related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.

Related work experience in coaching football

5 years of experience as a high school/collegiate coach
Physical Requirements:
Work requires moderate physical exertion (up to 50 pounds) on a continuous basis (over 50% of time); or heavy physical exertion (over 50 pounds) on a frequent basis (up to 50% of time).
Environmental Conditions:
Work involves frequent exposure to unpleasant working conditions or undesirable elements, which may involve exposure to a variety of elements which are potentially hazardous or harmful which require exercise of well-defined precautions for protection from injury or illness.
