Reporting to the Global Business Development Manager for Wood, this role is responsible for achieving sales revenue growth in the assigned market of the wood and lumber industry. Key objectives include managing and growing existing accounts, prospecting, closing and growing new accounts with system integrators, OEMs, and large end users in Europe and South East Asia. Supported by customer service and application engineering, the Business Development Manager for wood products will meet or exceed annual sales growth targets established by executive management.

Meet or exceed the annual sales targets for the assigned wood market

Create, maintain and execute a strategic plan on how to develop and grow sales in the market and region that ties in with the corporate growth objectives

Manage high volume key accounts

Create growth within existing accounts by penetration via new applications

Prospect and develop new accounts within the market and region

Provide product/application recommendations to new and existing clients

Have and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the wood market and applications

Have and maintain an in-depth knowledge of LMI product capabilities and limitations

Build strong relationships with existing and prospective clients

Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner

Negotiate pricing and supply contracts with key large customers in the market

Manage conflict with customers to achieve a harmonious supplier/customer relationship

Ensure proper and active use of the companies CRM system as outlined by the LMI sales process

Maintain accurate forward-looking revenue and product mix forecasts as outlined by the LMI sales process

Work closely with customer service and sales support team to ensure customer satisfaction with regard to order processing, delivery times, RMAs and shipping related issues

Work closely with application engineering and technical support team to ensure customer satisfaction with regard to technical support and troubleshooting issues

Work closely with product management with regard to product development, product replacement and EOL product transfer

Execute on strategic corporate initiatives that impact your market and region

Establish relationships with professional associations, strategic business partners and business networks to promote the awareness of LMI and its product lines

Evaluate current trends, competitive activity, economic factors and changes in your market and region to translate this knowledge into definitive and actionable plans to build profitable growth

Travel as required to industry events, customer sites and LMI management meetings

Interact with marketing to coordinate tradeshows and other marketing initiatives that are required in the market and region

Create statement of requirement reports with potential revenues for LMI executive and product management for potential new products that create revenue growth

Engineering or Commerce Degree or equivalent training and experience

Minimum of 3 years professional sales experience working with OEM, SI or Distributors. Preference given to those candidates with a technical background or wood products industry experience

Proven skills in developing strategic plans for sales growth and evidence of successful execution of these plans

Working knowledge of 3D machine vision and related products
