What you'll do

Our team in Walldorf within SAP SE is looking for a Junior Developer (f/m/d) familiar with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript or another modern programming language. We are building and evolving a state-of-the-art cloud-native marketing application. If you want to work with us, implementing and using latest concepts of cloud development such as microservice-oriented architecture, containerized deployment (Docker/K8S), service mesh, and others to solve enterprise requirements - this is your chance to make an impact at SAP SE.

As a Junior Developer (f/m/d) for cloud software projects, you design, develop and operate microservices for SAP's next generation Marketing Platform (SAP Emarsys). You will also have the chance to evaluate the fit of new concepts and technologies for the requirements of our newly planned Marketing product offering. It is important to us that you are eager to constantly learn about novel technologies in the context of cloud native engineering, distributed systems, and DevOps.

What you bring

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar discipline
• Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
• Some proficiency in a modern programming language (Java, JavaScript, etc.)
• Constructive and open style of communication, working as a team player
• Ambition to operate autonomously
• German and fluent English language skills

Optional, but beneficial skills:

• Relevant first working experience (incl. as working student)
• Experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes
• Experience in delivering software in the public cloud environment
• Worked with Version Control tools before
• Experience with a modern database, SQL, NoSQL

As part of a cross functional development scrum team, you will support our mission: the implementation and operational excellence of innovative and powerful tools and services to make marketeers work more effective.

We're a team of SAP SE employees in Walldorf and part of a bigger global team, with locations in Germany, Austria, Hungary, Canada and USA. In Walldorf, we're working on in-app capabilities and integrations to broaden the use cases and the customer base of SAP's marketing offering in the cloud.
