Global Energy Transformation / Sustainability Manager (m/f/d)

Location: Wesel near Düsseldorf

Responsibilities

Exciting opportunities await you - as Energy Transformation Manager, you will drive BYK's global sustainability agenda by developing and managing a comprehensive sustainability program focused on energy transformation for several types of corporate buildings, including production facilities, warehouses, and office spaces. Your role will focus on implementing innovative strategies and leading impactful projects that align with our sustainability goals. Your tasks in detail:

• Oversee global projects related to renewable energy, energy efficiency, and carbon footprint reduction for BYK's manufacturing sites
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability practices into business operations and project management
• Analyze and control investment decisions, ensuring alignment with our sustainability goals and financial objectives
• Draft, modify, and implement company policies to align global activities
• Work closely with the finance department to develop CapEx templates and ensure that sustainability projects are financially viable
• Prepare and present reports on sustainability performance and energy consumption to senior management and stakeholders
• Engage with external partners, including suppliers and customers, to promote sustainable practices and energy transformation initiatives
• Stay informed on regulatory changes and industry trends related to sustainability and energy transformation
• Report directly to the Managing Director Production

Requirements

With this profile, you convince us - your long-term experience in sustainability and energy management in a corporate setting, combined with strong project management and analytical skills, will be instrumental in advancing our energy transformation initiatives. Your other qualifications include:

• Master's degree in environmental science, engineering or a related field
• A track record of successful project delivery in an international matrix organization
• Excellent decision-making abilities
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and sustainability-related software tools
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders
• Reliability, integrity, flexibility, and resilience, combined with a team-oriented mindset and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent German and English language skills
• Willingness to travel to a limited extent
