Policy Advisor - Food Systems & Nutrition

Ihre Aufgaben

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with a contract duration of two years, due to a absence cover. Employment location will be Bonn or Berlin, Germany., As Senior Policy Advisor - Food Systems & Nutrition at Welthungerhilfe (WHH), you are responsible for Welthungerhilfe's lobbying and advocacy work in the areas of food systems, food security and nutrition and support German and global political processes. Your assessments contribute to the positioning of WHH, which they represent in the political and public discourse for a world without hunger.,

• National and international advocacy work in the areas of food systems, food security and nutrition and other relevant policies

• Monitoring political, scientific and public discussions as well as analyzing and preparing information on the topic area

• Establishing and maintaining political contacts with representatives from politics, administration, civil society, science and the private sector

• Developing topic-related positions and publications of WHH and representing them to political decision-makers and the public (e.g. at conferences and podiums)

• Preparation of technical background information and briefings

• Development and implementation of topic-related (expert) events

• Representation of WHH in relevant networks at German and global level

• Contributing to the conceptual and content related development of WHH's political work

Ihr Profil

• A university or college degree in a field relevant to the position

• At least three years of professional experience in lobbying and advocacy work in the relevant subject areas

• Experience in shaping and influencing political processes

• Specialist knowledge in the areas of food systems, food security and nutrition

• Professional experience relevant to development policy in countries of the Global South

• Experience of working in (international) networks

• Willingness to travel in Germany and to the Global South

• Confidence, rhetorical and networking skills

• Fluency in written and spoken German and English, knowledge of French is an advantage
