The Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research, Wilhelm-Klauditz-Institut WKI in Braunschweig is looking for a student assistant as early as possible for the Center for lightweight and environmentally friendly buildings.
Sustainability through the use of renewable raw materials has been the focus of the Fraunhofer WKI for more than 75 years. The institute, with locations in Braunschweig, Hannover and Wolfsburg, specializes in process engineering, natural fiber composites, binders and coatings, emission protection, quality assurance of wood products, material and product testing, recycling processes, and the use of organic building materials and wood in construction.
What you will do
Fraunhofer institute for wood research/Fraunhofer WKI, is offering a scientific student employee position on the topic of " effect of wind loads on high-rise and midrise timber buildings" with the following focus:
Computational modelling of high-rise timber buildings under wind load using CFD simulations as well as FE simulations, With its focus on developing key technologies that are vital for the future and enabling the commercial utilization of this work by business and industry, Fraunhofer plays a central role in the innovation process. As a pioneer and catalyst for groundbreaking developments and scientific excellence, Fraunhofer helps shape society now and in the future.
Ihre Aufgaben
The contract is limited until 30.09.2025. The number of working hours is up to 20 hours per week. Remuneration according to the general works agreement for employing assistant staff.
Ihr Profil

Completed studies (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in Computational sciences in Engineering, aerospace engineering, materials science, civil engineering or mechanical engineering

Knowledge in the field of CFD simulations is required.

Experience in the software Simcenter 3D is an advantage.

Self-motivation and willingness to learn.
