The candidate will support and expand the college's academic internship program in collaboration and oversight from the Assistant Director of Experiential Education by implementing strategic employer relations and internship site development, strengthening communications with stakeholders, and supporting significant faculty engagement.
The candidate will also provide career coaching/ counseling for matriculated students in the arts liberal arts and sciences. In collaboration with our team of career development professionals, career coaching/counseling will also be provided to recent graduates as needed.
Reporting to and working at the direction of the Assistant Director of Career Development, the Experiential Learning Coordinator will plan and administer all phases of the Purchase College Academic Internship Program. This includes the process of reviewing and approving academic Learning Contracts, and facilitating communications with students, faculty sponsors, and internship site supervisors for Learning Contract approval. Other related tasks include coordinating and facilitating the internship professional skills seminar, processing travel grant awards, consulting with internship site supervisors for student evaluations, and engaging with interns to complete internship reflections.
The candidate will also collaborate with stakeholders on other on-campus applied learning initiatives, such as internship success panels and career readiness project initiatives, and participate in related SUNY Applied Learning meetings with the Assistant Director as required.
Ihr Profil
A master's degree in higher education, counseling, HR, IO psychology, student personnel, or a related degree is preferred. Graduate students with related program management experience will be considered.

2-3 years of experience in career development counseling/coaching, job/internship-search coaching, or academic advisement

Demonstrated experience coordinating/administering, or coordinating an academic internship, applied, service, or other high-impact learning program.

Proven ability to engage and collaborate with employers and/or faculty/stakeholders.

Proficiency with career/CSM/data management systems (i.e. Symplicity, Handshake, or other) is strongly preferred.

Experience career services-related resources such as FOCUS career assessment, (MBTI/Strong) Candid Career, Vault, First Hand, Career Shift, Linkedin, Interview Stream, etc. preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Excellent oral and written communication and strong presentation skills

Strong student advocacy and experience with diverse student populations

Excellent project follow-through ability; attention to detail a must

Collaboration and teamwork, focused on student/faculty/site supervisor interaction/relationships
