Job Description
For our office in Hamburg, Business Area Markets we are currently looking for a
Working student - Operational Risk & Algo Oversight (ORAO)
You will be helping the ORAO team strengthen and evolve the culture of risk management within BA Markets. Our team has three main focus activity areas 1) Operational Incident Management and analysis 2) Risk Assessment activities 2) 3) Algorithmic Trading oversight and control. You will provide technical support and analysis, help deliver existing core tasks and drive improvements to help maintain high quality output and speed in our delivery.
You will join a small team of risk management specialists. The team is diverse and split across locations but operate as one team. We are close working, collaborative and like to be creative and would like you to fit into this way of working.
Key responsibilities and assignment examples
You will assist our team with the following responsibilities:
- Incident Management
- Support the team in managing operational incidents that are reported to ORAO and to analyse complex issues, identify root causes and propose improvement actions
- Algo Oversight and control framework
- Support with analysis of Algorithmic trading controls, new Algo approvals, and help design and improve our controls framework
- Risk Assessment
- Involvement and support with running of detailed risk assessments and analysis of risks and controls that may impact BA Markets
- Role opportunities

Building systems and tools to help manage our key activities with maximum efficiency (e.g. involvement in design of new systems and tools, reporting methods and improvements in processes and automation)

business analysis activities

data mining and data quality activities

deliver existing important core activities and new change improvements

engagement and interactions with many stakeholders in BA Markets.
Qualifications
Requirements and desired skills

You are enrolled as a student and your studies are financial/technical or a comparable course (e.g. Information Technology, Mathematics, Economics, Risk Management, or relevant subjects) of studies and are at least in the third semester of your bachelor's degree or in your master's degree

excellent Microsoft Office 365 skills and MS Power App knowledge very desirable

fast learner and early adaptor of new business and technological developments

strong analytical and problem-solving skills

you have a hunger and are to looking for interesting challenges and development in both the Energy sector and Risk Management space
