Do you want to help create great digital experiences for our guests and employees? Are you getting excited about API calls and system integrations, while always keeping the customer in mind? Are you the person that is interested in the nitty gritty - but important - details that others often overlook? If you can answer these questions with yes, you might be our new Tech Specialist Digital Channels. Your domain will contain our (citizem.com) website, our award-winning mobile app, but also back-end systems like our payment service provider and our new-and-shiny customer data platform. As a Tech Specialist, you will form the liaison between the Tech Partners and the external suppliers. Together with the Tech Partners, you will design solutions for business challenges that touch your domain. You are deeply involved in the implementation of these solutions, you either implement them yourself or liaise with our external partners to get them implemented. Together with the business stakeholders you test the solution and celebrate the successful go-lives.

Post-go-live you provide level 2 or level 3 support on the solution to ensure the experience of our guests and employees is smoother than a penguin belly-sliding along an Arctic glacier. Your secret superpower is to find the defects that other people miss before they become issues. You will become the go-to person who knows every bit and byte of the applications in your domain. In this role, you will be instrumental in the growth of our global e-commerce platform as well as the further development of our other customer-facing solutions. The ideal candidate will be an analytical person who has strong technical knowledge of e-commerce solutions and enjoys knowing how the nuts and bolts under the hood work.

key responsibilities

  • Participate in the planning, design, and implementation processes for application and technology development, including projects, enhancements, application upgrades, and change requests.

  • Perform technical analysis and create architecture proposals for the projects and changes in your domain.

  • Develop scripts, apps, and services to automate and/or enhance our landscapes.

  • Participate in testing and QA cycles.

  • Actively participate in building and improving the SDLC of our digital channels.

  • In conjunction with the business and other stakeholders, define service levels and support requirements for the applications and technologies within the domain.

  • Oversee and monitor vendor service levels and relations for applications within the domain.

  • Analyze logs and monitoring to assess system performance and stability.

  • Where required, help troubleshoot production issues with the relevant suppliers to dig deep into problems across multiple systems at various levels. Together with our suppliers, provide root cause analysis of major incidents.

  • Develop implementation and training plans and documents.

  • Create support processes and documentation.

  • Participate in defining Disaster Recovery procedures for applications within the domain.

  • As required, being on-site at hotel openings (pre, during, and post-opening) or as required by the ongoing projects.

  • Participate in agile ways of working and all related ceremonies and activities

  • Provide 2nd/3rd line support and incident management on applications in your domain.,

Ihr Profil


  • Familiarity with technology, in your professional and personal world.

  • Previous experience with application development, architecture, and management of the modern digital solutions.

  • Bachelor's degree in a discipline relevant to the role (or equivalent work experience).

  • Experience with technologies such as JSON APIs, SQL, authentication methods, and/or test automation.

  • Experience with cloud computing primarily Azure, other cloud knowledge is a plus.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and other DevOps techniques is an advantage.

  • Experience with troubleshooting, system analysis, and monitoring within and across systems.

  • Experience with process documentation and tools such as Lucidchart.

  • Experience with (online) payment method processes, preferably with Adyen.

  • Strong communicator that is able to work with complex internal and external structures.

  • Self-motivated, mature reasoning at a strategic level, able to take ownership and drive for results.

  • Able to work with a high level of attention to detail and with a strong process focus.

  • Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.

  • Fluent in English.
