At the GCC-D the hosting team provides an infrastructure to make Galileo ground segments running smoothly. It provides the installation area and power supply for the system hardware and coordinates its integration into the Control Center network. The hosting team is responsible for the extremely high redundancy and availability of the power and cooling supply to all control rooms and server rooms within the Galileo Control Center (GCC). It is also responsible for providing site security and a diversity of IT support systems.
Ihre Aufgaben
You will support the ever-evolving Galileo Ground Segment in the implementation of new hardware systems. To ensure that this is possible without interrupting operations, our team is developing solutions for the further expansion of the control rooms and server rooms. Your focus will be on responsibility and coordination of work from delivery to installation and wiring of new components. Therefore, you will participate in various planning processes of the Galileo mission.
Your tasks:

Get to know the various (partly international) parties involved

Understanding the technical requirement documents

Coordinating the deployment / coordination of hardware installation:

Regular communication with the stakeholders involved

Coordinating various tasks independently and self-responsible (both proactively and on a day-to-day basis) and always keeping risk and resource management in mind

Supporting the planning of infrastructure aspects for future expansion of computer systems, server rooms, control rooms and data cabling

Representation of the team in various planning meetings and committees

Supporting the project management with reporting, statistical evaluation of tickets and creation of incident reports
-
Supporting the project management with preparation of offers in the area of infrastructure, e.g. cost and effort estimates for the installation of computer equipment in racks
Ihr Profil

Completed master's or bachelor's degree in engineering or natural science or comparable qualification

Experience in IT-systems

Experience in project management is desirable

Advanced level of English and German (written and spoken)
