What You'll Be Doing:
We are looking for a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Infrastructure Experience team at Camunda. The Infrastructure Experience team is a greenfield team that creates solutions that allow the Camunda 8 Self-Managed Platform (C8SM) users to easily create and configure their cloud infrastructure (e.g., a Kubernetes cluster) to make it ready for C8SM.
In this role, you will have an exciting opportunity to shape up this newly created team and play a crucial role in creating tools and libraries to help Camunda customers set up their cloud infrastructure to prepare it for Camunda 8 Self-Managed installations.

Create detailed documentation to contain detailed user guides and reference architectures to set up and configure Kubernetes on the common cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and make it ready for C8SM to be installed on it with the C8SM Helm chart (a different team develops the chart)

Create Infrastructure as Code libraries/snippets for Camunda customers to quickly set up their cloud resources (e.g., Terraform modules, Crossplane compositions, etc.) in the cloud provider of their choice

Create productivity tools to help Camunda customers debug their cloud infrastructure issues without having to involve our support team
Overall, you will:

Shape C8SM infrastructure solutions based on vision, customer feedback, and community input.

Craft clean, modular, extensible, and maintainable code for cloud infrastructure, adhering to best practices and standards.

Participate in code reviews and offer feedback for consistent code quality.

Share expertise internally through discussions, workshops, and presentations, fostering team growth.
Ihr Profil

3+ years of experience as an Infrastructure or DevOps Engineer (cloud architecture and design of production-grade environments (in AWS, GCP, Azure - any of them) and Infrastructure As Code (Terraform, Crossplane, Pulumi, CloudFormation - any of them)

Experience setting up and working with Kubernetes (any flavor) for production-grade environments

As a curious and passionate manager of one, you don't need strong supervision and control for daily work (this is crucial for us as we are a remote-only and async-first team) and are a clear communicator

Strong technical empathy and ability to collaborate with technical support for resolving customer issues (as well as with the users directly)

Comfortable using at least one programming language (any), e.g., for automation, CI/CD, etc.

Ability and/or willingness to use our product

Experience working with private clouds

Experience with OpenShift

Experience working as a technical solutions architect (or similar)

You have open-source contributions for IaC tools or have your open-source project (we'll be thrilled to learn about it!)
