The Regional Manager is responsible for the profitable sales growth, increasing market share and optimal brand representation in the Independent Retail Partners (IRP)/Lingerie Specialist Store channel for the designated region. He/she is an inspiring team leader who builds capacity and successfully manages a team of sales representatives.
Your Responsibilities
As Regional Manager US/CAN, you will report to the Head of Independent Retail Partners (IRP) and lead the local sales teams.
You'll be responsible for driving profitable growth, market share and brand representation, and delivering financial results in line with companies' guideline, via day-to-day operations.
- Be an ambassador of the Van de Velde values towards your team and customers.
- Develop and maximize the sales & profitability of your business and take decisions accordingly.
- Implement local sales processes and closely monitor & optimize field visit planning based on the requirement of the market.
- Manage and negotiate customer contracts to increase and/or gain the best possible long-term profitability, whilst maximizing sales opportunities and going for a win-win situation. Make sure trading terms are met.
- Obtain frequent contact with strategic customers and prospects in order to build a long-term relationship and achieve your objectives.
- Drive order conversion in close collaboration with the CS and CC managers.
- Detect and establish sales opportunities, acquire new doors in line with territory management guidelines, and set priorities based on thorough analysis of KPI's, sales figures (per channel, brand & segment), market evolutions, …
- Develop a clear understanding of the local market and identify new business opportunities.
- Follow and comply to internal financial processes, contract management guidelines and management guidelines of OPEX.
- Manage trade marketing budgets (SOB) and attack budgets for your country/region, based on your teams' input, in line with SOB guidelines and approval process. Maximize brand presence in-store and ensure brand guidelines are met at all times with a focus on driving sell trough. Weekly follow-up and analysis of sales performance, relevant KPI's, … with weekly reporting to Head of IRP.
You will develop and implement the annual growth plan/strategy for your markets in line with the strategic plan and contribute to the global IRP strategy
- Develop and implement the short and long-term strategy for our brands in your region, in line with the global Commercial- and Van de Velde Brand strategy, with a focus on the To.Get.Her project
- Develop, implement and follow-up of the annual growth plan for your region and translate the plan into specific objectives and targets for your team.
- Translate the global IRP strategy and overall Van de Velde strategy to your teams to obtain a high engagement level.
- Actively identify new opportunities to continuously improve the field sales working and daily business.
- Create business plans for the different sub-regions, in line with your annual growth plan, in close collaboration with your responsible sales representative.
Stakeholder management will be a key success factor. You'll
- Actively develop and work on the public relations/perception for your region within Van de Velde to create a broad support base.
- Actively work together with your colleagues Regional Managers to share knowledge and work on international projects with a large cross functional network within the company.
- Engage and collaborate with multifunctional teams (BPO, CBA, commercial retail, digital commerce, marketing, trade marketing, CS, Finance, HR, operations, …) to drive the execution of our business strategy. Give specific focus to the Lingerie Styling Expert Program in your region in close cooperation with VdV Academy.
- Partner with supply chain/demand planning to ensure sales forecasting, product availability and customers levels are met.
- Actively participate in meetings or projects with the Central office, even exceeding the own department/region (e.g. Adoption meeting).
People management is at the very core of your role
- Lead, coach and develop your field sales team to set them up for success - you will drive Sales Excellence, with a focus on consultative & data driven selling, support on digital acceleration of your customer base, and enhancing the sales skills of your teams.
- Recruit and onboard new talent for your country when needed.
- Plan weekly 1-2-1's with your team members to discuss operational issues & progress.
- Set-up regular team meetings to give business updates, create awareness, align them with company goals and challenge them on overall performance.
- Set-up quarterly check-ins to challenge them on sell-out and set targets.
- Hold performance conversations, in line with company guidelines.
- Demonstrate the principle of "Lead by example".

Your profile
Degree: Master degree or equivalent through experience
Qualifications:
- Leadership experience within sales: min. 5 -10 years, of which relevant experience in budgets of 20 million of higher
- Proven track record of strong leadership skills and motivating/coaching a team towards shared targets and strategies
- Proven experience in successful (field) sales management and development
- High level of understanding of the premium fashion business
- Valid driving license & willing to travel internationally/ work flexible hours
- Fluent knowledge of English (both written and spoken)
- Advanced Excel & Powerpoint skills, working capacity of PowerBI/cubes
