Ihre Aufgaben
As a Service Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless installation, maintenance, and repair of our photonic and semiconductor equipment. You will support our customers with all levels of service of Chroma's wide portfolio of photonics, semiconductor test solutions and PXI.. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting technical issues, conducting training sessions, and delivering outstanding customer service. In complex cases, you will be deployed in the field to solve the problems on location. You will perform service work at several European locations on complex machines, it concerns both planned maintenance work and troubleshooting.
Job responsibilities:

Giving customers technical support, repair and after service in the Photonics and Semiconductors test market;

Having extensive understanding of our product requirements, datasheet and test plan;

Answering technical questions from Sales Engineers and customers;

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and product development, to relay customer feedback, contribute to product improvements, and enhance overall customer experience;

Read technical drawing and circuit diagram and provide support.

Performing electrical and mechanical work;
-
Conducting quality checks during assembly;
-
Making proposals for improvement;

Conducting final inspection and testing;

Work independently with a schedule as a guide. Timely reporting when and why a timeline cannot be achieved;

Repair work on already supplied and new instruments, devices and / or complete test systems;

Testing of new and repaired instruments or devices;
-
Calibration of new and repaired instruments or devices;
-
Generating internal reports regarding the service work and calibration
-
Creating notes for internal information and, if necessary, initiating follow-up by third parties;
-
Team consultations with Chroma Germany GmbH in Germany and the development department of our headquarters in Taiwan;

Maintain detailed records of service activities, including service reports, equipment manuals, and updated technical documentation. Ensure that all service-related documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

If necessary, perform reasonable other duties in the interest of the company, in case of e.g.: sickness, extreme workload and other similar situations.

The job may require frequent travel to customer sites, both domestic and international, for installations, repairs, and technical support.

Ihr Profil

An education in Electronics, Electrical, Semiconductor Engineering, Physics or equivalent work experience;

Experience in a technical environment, experiences in photonics testing or manufacture is preferred;

Willingness to travel, in possession of a driving license;
-
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical people

Excellent verbal and written English language skills, Chinese is a pre and German a plus.
