The School of Nursing seeks candidates for a full-time, nine months Assistant Professor of Nursing and Nursing Student Mentor to help students achieve their educational goals and serve as a faculty member in the RN to BS degree completion program. Under the direction of the Director of the Traditional Nursing Program, the person in this position will receive up to .75 of their load to:
1. Establish rapport with students required to have or requesting academic support 2. Meet regularly with and provide academic support to nursing students who meet the following criteria: 1. <80% exam average in nursing courses 2. interruption in progression due to a withdrawal or achieving less than a C in any nursing or science courses 3. Provide academic support to nursing students requesting support, coaching or mentoring 4. Evaluate student's perception of barriers to student success 5. Discuss and facilitate access to resources available to overcome barriers to success 6. Provide individual support and mentoring 7. Serve as a tutor for students who are at risk 8. Conduct Exam Reviews 9. Assist students with their goals (e.g. time management, study schedule, preparing for exams, tutoring, etc)Ihr Profil

Earned graduate degree in nursing.

Current clinical and classroom teaching experience preferred.

Experience with or willingness to develop expertise in supporting learning for undergraduate students is required.
