Position Summary
LifeVantage is searching for a dynamic, passionate research scientist who will be focused on elevating and evolving the company's science and product platform through innovative research and product solutions.
The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of nutrigenomics and nutritional sciences specifically focused on the dietary supplement, nutraceutical, and food spaces, and will have demonstrated the ability to successfully bring scientifically demonstrable products to market, partner with Clinical Research Organizations to develop and execute clinical studies (in vivo and in vitro), and be a leader in innovation.
The ideal candidate must also be able to draft and articulate complex scientific processes into easily understood product stories that can be utilized by the company's product marketing team and LifeVantage's worldwide distributors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties as assigned.
- Manage study/testing design, protocol writing, execution of studies/testing and evaluation of results specifically for the evaluation of new raw materials in early product development in collaboration with the Development team; Handle data analysis processes and distill information obtained from these collaborative studies/interactions for communications and recommendations to cross-functional departments
- Assist with product ideation including the research and investigation of new technologies and delivery systems.
- Identify new triends in science and raw materials to present to Product Marketing and other applicable departments to apply to the Product Pipeline.
- Build data base of potential technologies that have been pre-screened by Regulatory for future development efforts.
- Draft, iterate and finalize product formulas in collaboration with Development team.
- Assist in building strategic partnerships and relationships with the scientific community.
- Develop relationships with key strategic partners for proprietary raw material development.
- Investigate publishing results from executed studies.
- Partner with Development Team on investigation and submission of patents.
- Prepare scripts and present on consultant calls, as needed.
- Collaborate with Creative Marketing on scientific asset development.
- Work with PMO to move help products through stage gate process.
- Assess scientific validity of ingredients, products and/or IP.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of scientific/clinical data and literature related to relevant company and competitor products
Preferred Education and/or Experience
- Senior level researcher with doctoral-level training in a research discipline relevant to outcomes-focused research (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics, medicine, biochemistry, pharmacy, clinical epidemiology, health services research), or a Master's degree in one of these disciplines along with a professional clinical degree (medicine, pharmaceutical, etc.).
- Previous experience in building successful products in the field of dietary supplement products.
- Proficiency in a second language desirable but not required.
