Plumber, Physical Plant

Ihre Aufgaben

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director for The University of West Alabama, this position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Installation and repair of plumbing fixtures, irrigation systems, and natural gas piping systems.

• Maintenance and repair of water heaters.

• Maintenance and repair of sanitary sewer systems.

• Other duties may include working in other areas of the mechanical maintenance department to meet the goals of the department.

• Able to effectively manage time and complete work within a reasonable time.

• Some overtime work will be required.

• Able to safely operate all types of plumbing tools and equipment.

• Willingness to follow all safety guidelines.

• All other duties as assigned by the director and/or University administrators.

  Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Periodically performing work outside during all times of the year.

• Frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, kneeling and reaching.

• Transporting moderately heavy items at times.

• There may be a high level of walking required in this position.

• Operation of University vehicles will be required.

Ihr Profil

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

• Physical ability to do the work.

• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.

• Ability to interact professionally with all members of the University community and external public.

• Valid Driver's License.

• Dependable transportation.

  Desired:

• Alabama Journeyman Plumber / Apprentice Plumber Card.

• One (1) year of uninterrupted employment.
