Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit The SES Department offers programs in Special Education, Birth through Kindergarten (BK), and Interpreting, Deaf Education, and Advocacy Services (IDEAS). It includes full-time faculty who have a history of success procuring external funding for both research and development of service providers, teachers, researchers, and leaders. Ihre Aufgaben
The person in this position offers needed instructional support to the Special Education programs in the SES Department. Instructional support includes teaching four courses for each of the Fall and Spring semesters (face-to-face and online) and possibly supervising students in clinical placements. The clinical assistant professor will also help maintain the integrity of the programs through offering a high degree of expertise in service delivery and instruction for students with high-incidence disabilities (with a focus on literacy), with capacity to serve on dissertation committees, to assume departmental administrative roles such as program coordinator, and service to the department, the School of Education, the university, and the field., "R" for Rare (0-30%), "O" for Occasional (30-60%), "F" for Frequent (60-90%), "C" for Constant (90-100%). An earned Doctorate in Special Education or current enrollment in a doctoral program in Special Education with completion of all program requirements except the dissertation (i.e., ABD). Candidates who have not yet received a Doctoral degree, but anticipate receiving the degree, will be considered for this position.

Documented evidence of exemplary teaching experience in higher education

At least three years of experience teaching students with high-incidence disabilities in K-12 settings

Expertise and successful experience with literacy instruction and assessments

Evidence of service to schools, a university, and/or professional organizations
Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
