My client is a global supplier of aerospace components and wishes to recruit for a brand new Key Supplier Manager position. The role will involve extensive UK travel, very occasional overseas travel, and when not travelling will be a WFH based role.
The successful candidate will work closely with team members and key suppliers' teams to ensure that day-to-day supply chain business results are achieved. They will monitor and lead processes and by facing potential criticalities to maximize their Suppliers' reliability and service levels.,

Partner with key suppliers to pursue problem solving and continuous improvement activities, with the objective of enhancing overall performance.

Perform capacity and capability assessments at the suppliers' premises. E.g. If a supplier continually fails to deliver on time, review the supplier's onsite processes and make recommendations for improvements to be better able to service the customer.

Anticipate delivery and quality issues and drive problem resolution at the suppliers' site.

Analyse quality and delivery KPIs to provide the supplier with a delivery and quality oversight, analysis, and performance tracking.

Implement proactive and reactive strategies by identifying risks and executing action plans.

Report results to the internal stakeholders at various levels of the organisation.

Involve internal customers in problem resolution when needed.

Maintain and foster the best relationship possible with key suppliers.
Ihr Profil
-
Degree in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or similar preferred
-
5 years+ previous relevant work experience in the aviation industry

Willing to travel extensively

Understanding of quality systems and processes

Knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO-9001 requirements

Proficient in MS Office suite, especially Excel

Knowledge of SAP software

Strong communication, negotiating & project coordination skills

Excellent problem-solving ability with good analytical & organisational skills

Fluent in written and spoken English
