Lab Head or Senior Postdoctoral Researcher

Ihre Aufgaben

• Managing and leading the organization of the research group in close contact with the PI

• Co-supervision of research group members and first contact person for solving everyday challenges related to research projects, training of new lab members

• Developing and advancing own research projects

• Planning and writing scientific publications and grant applications

• Managing research projects in close cooperation with academic / industrial partners

• Ensuring compliance with all legal and safety requirements in the lab, project leader for genetic engineering at S1 and S2 level

• Planning and participation of outreach events

• Contact person for interaction with authorities and administration You will work

Ihr Profil

in the INM's research group "Materials Synthetic Biology" (Prof. Wilfried Weber). In this group, synthetic biology and optogenetic strategies are used to develop advanced (living) materials for applications in diverse areas such as tissue engineering, biosensing, biocomputing, or living and sustainable construction. We search for a motivated team player eager to join our group as Lab Head or Senior Postdoctoral Researcher. Your Profile

• PhD and Postdoc in one of the following fields: synthetic biology, biomaterials, biochemistry, cell biology, metabolic engineering, or microbiology

• Experience in lab management and supervision of PhD / MSc students

• Strong experience in planning and writing of scientific publications

• Experience in planning and writing of grant applications

• Experience in managing scientific projects together with external partners

• Excellent communication skills, a constructive and motivating attitude towards colleagues and partners

• Qualification as Project Leader according to GenTSV §28 desired

• Excellent command of written and spoken English language, very good command of German language (level C1) for proficient interaction with authorities / administration
