Project Manager for Design and Construction (d/f/m) - Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH) region

Our client is a leading group in the design, production, and marketing of ophthalmic glasses, optical equipment, prescription glasses, and sunglasses. In a context of strong growth, they are recruiting their new Project Manager for Design and Constuction (d/f/m) for the DACH region. This role is located in Bavaria, near Nürnberg (up to 100% home office). Furthermore, our client offers a relocation package.

Ihre Aufgaben

Responsibilities & Role:

• Ensuring timely delivery through continuous meetings/alignments with internal stakeholders such as Construction, Design, R&D, Planning, and Logistics departments, and cost reduction through negotiations with vendors.

• Ensuring the most cost-effective solutions with the best quality for the company by seeking new suppliers, managing bids, and negotiations, with a focus on general contractors and local categories.

• End-to-end management of the tendering process for local categories to ensure timely supply of the most cost-effective solutions in the relevant regions.

• Ensuring an effective supplier list to achieve quality, timing, and cost goals.

• Focusing on managing general contractors, local categories, and bids for materials, ensuring vendors fully understand plans and specifications to submit comprehensive and reliable quotes.

• Negotiating costs, timelines, and terms with local suppliers, especially during final negotiations with general contractors.

• Supporting the design, research, development, and engineering team on all value engineering possibilities to optimize costs, timelines, and logistics.

• Assisting the purchasing team in implementing the local joinery strategy and managing local unique joinery.

  Requirements & Profile:

• Knowledge and experience of construction processes, materials, and cost categories in the retail sector.

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a procurement/estimation role within the construction industry.

• Negotiation skills.

• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Proficiency in MS Office (excellent Excel skills).

• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.

• Flexible, dynamic, proactive.

• Team player.

• Fluent in spoken English and German.
