Ihre Aufgaben
Our "Professional Service Robots - outdoor" group develops mobile outdoor robots for agriculture and logistics processes that are used in various (industrial) environments. One development focus is on robot cognition, for example to navigate in complex environments and perform complex processes reliably. As a software developer for feature detection and environment modeling, your task will be to develop and implement algorithms and network designs (deep learning). These should enable our robots to efficiently and accurately detect and interpret their environment based on sensor data such as LiDAR, RADAR and camera data. Based on this, you will embed the detected semantic and geometric information into meaningful and efficient map representations of the environment for use in the navigation architecture. Our team is working on enhancing the cognitive capabilities of our robots for reactive and sensitive interaction with their environments. You will therefore work closely in our interdisciplinary team with colleagues from the navigation team to develop integrated solutions within our CURT ecosystem, which consists of various CURT robots (wheel and track-based) and our autonomous navigation navCURT.
What you will do
-
Development of algorithms and design of deep learning networks for feature detection and environment modeling
-
Development of semantic environment representations and interpretations
-
Fusion of sensor data (LiDAR, RADAR, camera) for feature detection
-
Transfer of sensor information into map representations such as feature maps and grid map layers
