We are looking for support of our quantum systems and technology development team. Are you interested in shaping the future of the European secure communication infrastructure and develop groundbreaking solutions for our customers? Your Tasks

Design, develop and accommodate technical baseline solutions of satellite-based quantum communication systems on the basis of customer requirements and budgets

Technically coordinate a multidisciplinary engineering team in order to integrate quantum and classical communication, in particular with reference to:

Quantum System Architecture Definition and Justification

Interface Definition
-
Development Logic Definition
-
Coordination of related performance analysis
-
Lead the engineering team effort for design trade-offs between the involved disciplines such as: thermal, structural, mechanical, optical and electrical
-
Collaborate closely with technical management and other engineering disciplines (e.g. Performance Analysis, V&V Engineering, Subsystems Engineering and Spacecraft Systems Engineering)

Document the system architecture and creating technical specifications of systems and subsystems

Derive security system requirements specifications and develop security concepts
-
Ensure proper flow-down and allocation of lower-level subsystem requirements and budgets and maintain them up to date

Definition of study logic, work breakdown and work packages

Develop prototypes and carry out tests to validate the system architecture

Management of work packages and sub-projects
-
Conducting feasibility studies and risk analyses
-
Act as an interface with the customer and lead technical discussions with regard to understanding the customer's requirements, their feasibility and justification that the system baseline meets the customer's requirements
Ihr Profil
-
Master/PhD Degree in physics, electrical engineering, computer science, quantum optics or a related field
-
Sound knowledge of quantum mechanics and its application in communication systems
-
Several years of experience in system architectures, ideally in the field of quantum communication or related technologies

Experience with modern software and hardware architectures
-
Experience in MBSE would be an advantage
-
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work in a team with a self-managed and pro-active working style

Strong communication skills
