We are looking for a hands-on Development Architect to join our team contributing to shaping the strategy and scope of SAP's Business Technology Platform AI capabilities. Generative AI (GenAI) has emerged as a transformative force, with the ability to create, mimic, and innovate across a wide range of domains. This has significant implications for enterprise software and ultimately for SAP. SAP's Business Technology Platform is shaping the future of enterprise software and is a key enabler for the transformation we're on together with our customers. It is creating the ability to extend and personalize SAP applications, integrate, and connect entire landscapes, and empower business users to integrate processes and experiences. Become part of a multi-disciplinary team, that focuses on execution and shaping the future of GenAI capabilities across our Business Technology Platform.

The Role

This role requires a self-directed team player with deep technical knowledge and business acumen. In this role, you will be working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Data Engineers and many others.

Your responsibility as an (Associate) Development Architect will be to:

• Ensure an aligned and consistent architecture of generative AI (GenAI) capabilities, as part of our products, or a specific architecture subject.

• Evaluate and estimate effort for business cases or backlog items and coordinate the same with the development teams.

• Ensure architectural integrity of solutions. Participate in research and Proof of Concept activities in the field of GenAI for BTP.

• Actively contribute to CPA AI workgroups related to AI topics.

• Write clean and maintainable code using best engineering practices (unit testing, automation, source control, design patterns etc.).

• Plan & run projects and initiatives along with your engagement lead, gather and define requirements and collaborate with customers & partners.

• Collaborate closely with our product management and technical stakeholders to create transparency and provide guidance on maximizing business value based on reuse and scaling effects.

• Actively drive feasibility efforts to ensure successful team completion of proof of concepts and GenAI projects., Our BTP AI team is part of the organization building and operating the platform. We aim to be on top of the latest advancements in AI and to figure out how we apply these best to increase the value for everybody building on top of the platform - be it internal or be it our customers and partners. Join a diverse team of data engineers, engagement leads, development architects and developers who aim to support and deliver AI cases in the context of BTP.

Ihr Profil

• Master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 8+ years professional experience in Software Development.

• Minimum of 6 years professional work experience in an architect role in engineering and software architecture design, building and distributing software tools, and solutions in an agile environment.

• Practical experience and a deep understanding of the latest technology trends, (SAP) SaaS products, and Hyperscalers cloud offerings (Azure, AWS, GCP).

• Proficient in JavaScript, TypeScript and Node.js as well as other software technologies including Rest/JSON, SOAP/XML, Postgres, Single Sign-On (SSO), HTML5, Performance Tuning/Profiling, Testing frameworks.

• Experience with GenAI, LLMs, RAG, LangChain, VectorDBs, Kyma and Containerization.

• Ideally Experience in delivering projects or products on the BTP.

• Experience in working with customers and building business applications is a plus

• Fluency both written and spoken in English and German

  Tech you bring: Cloud and business technology experience Kyma, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git, GitOps; ML Tech you'll learn: SAP BTP, Cloud Foundry, SAP CAP, AI Agents and anything relevant that will come up in the field of generative AI.
