To promote excellent academics who are at the beginning of their independent research career, Bielefeld University offers two ERC preparative Fellowships in the form of research associate positions for external researchers who are currently not employed at Bielefeld University. These positions will offer successful candidates the opportunity to further develop their independent research and to prepare their ERC Starting grant application with Bielefeld University as host institution. The development of an individual research profile and relevant academic skills are considered part of this process., We expect,

English or German version of your PhD certificate
-
two recommendation letters: one by a member of staff at Bielefeld University and one by an external referee (max. 2 pages)

a letter of support of the faculty detailing how the fellow will complement their strategic research interests (max. 1 page)
Ihr Profil
The ERC Preparative Fellowship is open to researchers of all disciplines with 2-7 years of experience since completion of their PhD. Applicants are expected to meet the following criteria:

completed PhD and at least two years of postdoc research experience
-
scientific excellence according to the ERC criteria (depending on the research discipline e.g., at least one important publication as main author or without the participation of the PhD supervisor; publications as main author in highranking international journals; (translated) monographs; patents; conference presentations; (inter)national prizes and awards - for more detailed information see the link above)

excellent communication skills
